Chris's Story
Life
I went to college at Raymond Walters in Blue Ash until 1990. I met my future wife on there in freshman chemistry. While at Rays, I worked at Warner Cable to save money. I then transferred to UC College of Engineering and my wife transfered to Michigan State. I graduated in 1994 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Kisten graduated with a B.S. in Biochemistry. I have designed CO2, metal cutting lasers, packaging equptment and various other industrial machines. I am now trying my hand at Robotics. Kristen worked for 3 years as technical director of an electroplating company and now works as a chemist/lab supervisor for a chemical company in Tri-county.
I married Kristen June (from Mason!) in July of '94.
Our first child, Susan Marie Mason was born 3-6-97. She died from Xeroderma Pigmentosis Cockayne Syndrome Complex. She grew very slowly, had joint constrictures, cataracts, & couldn't go out in the sun. She died Feb. 6, '98. We couldn't even donate her organs to help another person's child. ...Expand for more
We then tried invetro fertilization with a donor egg 3 times without luck. We still have 8 in an UC freezer. Christopher Sean Mason Jr is the reason why!!! Opps, Kristen got pregnant before our 4th try. He was born was Feb. 15, 2000. Even with an experimental prenatal test, it was a long 9 months. Opps, Kristen got pregnant again. After more tests & a very long 9 month wait, we got a healthy baby girl. Rabecka Ann Mason was born July 20, 2001. One last girl was born a little sooner than we planed, another long 9 months with lots of testing and Elizabeth Nichole Mason was born January 20, 2003. Not worth the risk to try for any more, the 25% chance of another child dying seems like a lot more than 25% after 3 healthy kids. We can't complain.
I have kept in touch with Mike Robbins, Aaron Dickerson, Bryan Whitaker, Randy Reeves, & Randy Fields. I have also run into Patty Alcorn, Robbin Rueben, Tammy Kirby, Joe Crommer, & Bryan Mennefee from time to time. I would like to have a 1986-1990 class reunion.
