Chris's Story

Hello San Beni peeps. I left Texas in 1989 and joined the United States Navy. Did the military thing for 5 years, grew up A LOT, and landed in Bakersfield, CA after a Honorable Discharge. I currently own my IT Consulting Firm (LANPRO Systems) and have been married for a little over 2 years now. Married life is great, Bakersfield is a wonderful, fast-growing, little city, and I'm fortunate to have great friends, a rewarding career, and a wonderful life here in the great state of California. Don't get me wrong...I'm still a "Texan" at heart and have had a couple visits over the last few years to South Padre/Rio Grande Valley, Austin (still the best city in the Nation), Houston, El Paso (have a client in El Paso), Dallas, etc. My wife (Brittney) has never been to Tejas, so some time here in the not-so-distant future, we'll probably venture out to Austin and San Antonio and get her introduced right! llowing places of origin: Sydney Australia (or any city in Australia for that matter) - The people are absolutely awesome! Beijing China - Great Wall was mind boggling awesome! Shanghai China - Old world mixed with new-age culture. Shanghai was outstanding! I'm really interested in knowing who, if anyone, is planning on attending the upcoming 20th reunion? For what it's worth, I think anywhere on South Padre would suffice as a venue for the reunion and it's my guess---especially us out-of-towners---there will be a better show if it was held on the Island. I think it would be both, and slightly strange, to see how much everyone has changed. And for those of you that still reside in Bakersfield, let my boy Tony Olivares know that Chris McGlasson says hello!! I kind of lost contact with Tony O over the years and it would be great to hear from him again. Well, I guess that's it for now.
