Chris's Story
Married at 19 to my now, ex, who was in the Navy. At 21 had my oldest son Bill (now 32), two years later, my son Ken (now, almost 30). After he got out of the Navy, we moved to his home state, Indiana. After 13 years of marriage, we decided to go our separate ways. Four years later, had my daughter, Jaclyn (now 17 and unfortunately...a chip off the old block). The boys were off to the Navy and to college so my daughter and I moved to Merritt Island, Florida. My younger brother had decided to leave Minnesota and move here and talked me into doing the same...get out of the midwest. Married again, after almost 13 years of single life and have now been married almost 10.
I often think of my friends from school and wonder how they all are. So I want to say hello to: Joe H., Brian S., Dick W., Charlotte K., Mindy M., Charlene C. and Cindy C.
As for the wildest thing I ever did in school, that's hard to say...of course...the last few years it was difficult to find me in school....unless I was sitting in Clausens office for skipping! vening, my Dad asked me how my day was. My typical answer was always..."it was okay". He had me join him later and as we sat there, the news came on and lo and behold...camera crews had been at Arlington Cemetary that day and we'd somehow made it on film. He took it well.
I have lived in Florida for almost 11 years now and even though I like the warmer weather, would move to California in a New York minute! After having moved so much in my life still get antsy to leave after being somewhere for so long. Have been at my present job for over 10 years now...basically a numbers cruncher at an Air Conditioning company. Still kind of wish I'd followed my dreams to be a Fashion Designer but the eyes aren't what they use to be so not a time to start!
I hope to make it to the next reunion so will hopefully continue to hear on any updates. Had tried to check on it many years ago and when I stopped at Langley, no one in the office knew anything about it. When I had heard of this latest one, had big plans to make it but then my sister had asked that I go to her retirement party in New Hampshire (she had 31 years with the IRS) and so went to be with her instead.
My best wishes to everyone!
