Chris's Story

I am six foot tall....Virgo.... I enjoy long walks on the beach, candlelight dinners and blah, blah, blah... I trust all is well with you. You have to be pretty bored if you are reading this right now... What have I been doing in the last ten years? Two weeks after graduation I was involved in an automobile wreck which changed the direction of my life forever. Long story short... I broke my neck and was paralyzed fro the neck down. However, with extensive therapy and surgeries (most recent being this past summer) I am completely independent and mobile. I walk with a limp and have some finger dexterity problems, but I am truly thankful for everything I have been given. The following four years after the wreck, I worked full time and went to school part time. Don't reallly remember much about this period of my life, but I was told I had a good time. I had a variety of jobs... From truck driver to poolboy. ( and yes I enjoyed being a pool boy.) I decided to attack school full time; so after the dust settled, I was able squeeze four years of college into nine years. I went to five different colleges finally graduating from Mercer University (Macon) in 07'. I will be starting on my Master's in the upcoming year. During my years of school, I found a love for traveling and did so quite extensively. Mostly throughout the United States, Carribean and Mexico. I must admit I never been overseas, but I am currently planning a trip to Israel and Egypt this December. As previously stated, I graduated in 07 from Mercer. I moved back to Henry County, after a five year hiatus, and am currently a science teacher and basketball coach. Yes, you read that correctly, a teacher....Expand for more
I really don't remember much about my junior and senior year, but I must have been an a**, loser, goof off, stoner, reject, etc.. (whatever word you want to use is fine...) The reason why I say this is because when I tell people my profession... It always get a laugh followed by, "No seriously, What do you do now, Chris?" or some kind of explicit remarks followed by a puzzled look and a confused statement like, "But... you...you didn't go to school when you were in school?" I remember being a somewhat "good" student. I tried to fly below the radar. I remember being somewhat timid and shy. Quiet... Am I wrong in my perception? Someone let me know. This summer (2008), I am running a "Teen Camp" for the county. The is my second summer doing it. We do a variety of activities. This past week we took the kids to North Georgia to do some white water rafting. Coming up, we are going "Paintballing" (Don't know if that is the proper terminology, but you get the point.) We will also go to White Water and back to Six Flags in the upcoming week. I know...I know... Doesn't get much better than this. I get paid to have fun! Truth be told, I had no idea I had an account on "classmates." Must have set it up those first couple of years after high school... evidently, you are not allowed to post e-mail addresses. Classmates block it. If you want to shoot a message to me. "cvdsgb" plus the server that is NOT COOL but _ _ _. Three letters, H at the beginning, T at the end. O in the middle. I know we all graduated from Stockbridge, but you can figure it out. Look forward to hearing from the "Class of 98" 95-96-97-99-00-01 also welcomed.
