Chris's Story
Life
Long strange trip! For my DC-area high school friends who wonder, "Where'd he go?", my family moved to the Eastern Shore of MD right before the start of my senior year. I originally wasn't going to make the move but my other living arrangements fell through so it was off to Salisbury at the last minute w/o much time to say good-bye. On the whole, I didn't really care for for the town at the time but I met a few great people who made it tolerable. Now, sick of large metropolitan life, I find myself wondering what it would be like to live there...
I went to college on the Eastern Shore as well before heading back to the DC area for law school. I went to GM for one year but it just wasn't for me. I realized that I was interested in the law but didn't want to "be" a lawyer. I wound up taking that interest and combining it with my interest in computers & technology to make a living off of both. I've been working ever since advising law firms and corporate law departments in how to use computers and technology to be more effective - mostly in evidentiary document mgmt. Usually, when asked what I do, I just say "I make money off of lawyers", and leave it at that. Most people seem to enjoy the answer.

loyer, Ernst & Young, in May of 2002 to start our own company. It's a tough economy for a startup, but we're doing okay and enjoying work more than we ever could working for somebody else. I'm as interested in what I do as I have been in a long time. That's made it worthwhile whether or not we "succeed".
As much as I enjoy what I do, the lifestyle can get tough. Lots of hours, tons of travel. At times, it doesn't leave room for much else. Outside of work, my life's pretty simple. I have two children (Caitlin - 18 & Patrick - 16) that are my world. I always knew they would be a tremendous responsibility. In one sense, once you have children, what you "want" doesn't matter anymore - it's what's best for them. But, I never knew it would be so much fun watching them grow, try new things, and change. They are as different from each other as night and day, but catching "glimpses" of myself in both of them is kinda cool.
As always, when the opportunity presents itself, I sneak in a little reading, music, and the odd movie. New hobbies include golf (I stink, but I love to play!) and digital photography (I stink, once the camera's off full-auto).
I was never the most outgoing of people. I look forward to hearing from anyone that remembers me.
