Chris's Story
Life
I have been teaching and working out in the Monticello-Big Lake area for over 6 years now after spending some time in District 11. I am a high school hockey coach for Monticello HS where I have helped to build a new program. It has been rough but fun at the same time. Before this I coached for Blaine youth hockey and HS (JV) up until 2000 where we won the state AA championship. I have a wife named Amy, we've been married 6 years now, and two boys Dominic (4) and Eli (2). I live out in Big Lake, MN. I own and operate Stars Hockey Development, a business I started to help my youth hockey program and the some surrounding communities. I also run shooting lessons and clinics which keeps me busy in the off-season. I also run a website promoting hockey products that I sell. I still play hockey in different men's hockey leagues with some of my old buddies from HS and some people I played Junior and college hockey with. I haven't changed much from high school, I still have the same friends and still love to do the same things I did back then. All around I can't imagine thin...Expand for more
gs being any better.
College
After high school I attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and played hockey there. This was after I spent a couple years playing jr hockey at home here and in Iowa. I transferred to St. Cloud State University to finish my degree in 1992 and then in 1997 I got my masters of education from the University of Minnesota.
Workplace
I am employed by the Monticello School District where I coach the High School hockey team and teach. I also work my own business' when I am not doing my other endeavors. I own and operate Stars Hockey Development and have a website where I sell hockey products. Before teaching I did a lot of work in the video production field and worked for Pepsi (which I still do some work for today). After my hockey career ended, while attending school, I played in some bands around town to pay the bills and burn off some youthful energy. I figured I had the hockey hair going I may as well use it. I still play music today but more for fun rather than a dream. All in all I can't imagine doing anything else.
