Chris's Story
Life
After graduating from Gainesville High School in 1972, I spent four years at University of Florida getting my degree in English in 1976. I then went to law school at University of Florida, graduating in 1979. After my first year of law school, I married Suzy Yozgat (GHS class of 1973). We chose to remain childless. She died unexpectedly in February, 2008.
After law school I went to work at the public defender's office in Daytona Beach. I remain there more than 29 years later. I write appeals for my clients, most of whom have been sentenced to death. During my career, I have represented notorious serial killers ...Expand for more
such as Aileen Wuornos and Gerald Stano. I also represented Rod Ferrell otherwise known as the vampire killer.
On February 19, 2008, my wife, Suzy, died following a very short bout with cancer. It still seems surreal as I write this. I encourage everyone to live life to the fullest. It may not last.
I have since entered a relationship with a 32-year-old woman I've worked with for 11 years. She has a great baby boy, born 6/7/2008. So far we are very happy together.
I remain hopelessly liberal in my political views. I enjoy traveling, film, golf, and good food. I collect movie posters and political campaign buttons.
