Life
What's to tell?
I was a geek in Elemtary school.
I was a geek in Jr. High School.
Then I went to High School & met the town crazies.
High school was one great big, fun, non-stop thrill ride.
And then....I ended up married to the town maniac. LOL
Who is now straight as an arrow, and an old fuddy-duddy to boot. Go figure.
We've been married 23 years, (since '82) have 3 daughters ages 21, 20 & 18. They were all born in NH where we lived at the time. I've been a stay at home mom since '87. I loved raising my kids. It was/is my life's work.
We now live near the water once again. Except instead of Northport Bay (I lived in the Sand Pit) We now live less than a quarter mile from Narragansett Bay. And I realized just how much I missed that old salty air. Love my bay!
We'll stay in this house til we die.
We are both feeling older than we are, & have some health issues.
Sadly both of my older brothers have passed away. My parents now live in Florida.
My beloved Auntie (Tante) passed away Dec '04 of Alzheimers at age 86. It truly is the "long goodbye"
I often wonder what's happened to many of the folks I knew back in High School & Elementary School. I honestly can't remember a soul from Jr High (Sorry)
And of course, I remember many of the good people at my places of work. Those years at GP were some of the best years of my life...and it was my co-workers who made it that way.
I wish more people would post pix in here.
(It helps jog the memory)

As they say, youth is wasted on the young...But I was young & wasted in my youth! LOL
I miss having a young, healthy body.
I look in the mirror now & say........
"I'm too young to be this old!" LOL!

College
No college for this baby.
Workplace
I worked briefly as a temp for Citibank at the Quadrangle in Huntington, LI. I don't really count that one it was so short.
Then, my Pop opened a second restaurant in Huntington, LI. I was hostess, hat check girl, cashier. I met Henry Kissinger's brother Walter, who looked EXACTLY like him. He came in a few times to eat. People always thought he was Henry.
Working for my Pop was quite the experience. If you ever met my Pop, you'd understand. LOL
Machinist's Dept Store. Downtown Manchester, NH.
I was the cash audit clerk...(Yup the math dummy herself!) I thanked the lord for inventing calculators.
I remember long tall Sally, Dora, Janet the Planet & of course, our cigar smoking boss Louie, who was such a character. And his secretary Karen.
Then, my favorite & last job....
Georgia Pacific Corp. Building Materials Distribution Center Manchester NH. I was the Lumber Secretary.
My boss was "Jake the Snake" a warm & fuzzy guy who looked like a lumberjack, with a heart of gold. I think I was hired out of pure pity. My top typing speed was 50wpm. Jake used to say: "Watch it! Chrissy's typing again...get out the fire extinguisher!" Linda was his trusty assistant.
Oh, & our BIG boss, Duncan, branch manager. Once, I hurled a bottle of white-out at TJ, who ducked, & it hit Duncan right in the forehead! He was none too happy. I thought he'd fire me on the spot...But all he did was rub the bump on his head, & grumble a bit.
I also remember Chickie, Joyce, Diane, Forrest, Tony, Teddy, TJ & of course Irene A. A sweet older lady who loved the beach as much as I did. Bruce P. office mgr & his son Buddy, who ran shipping & receiving, deliveries & the warehouse guys. He always had a big, fat stogie in his mouth.
Gawd, how I loved working with you all! I hope I didn't forget anyone... It was happy times.
