Christel's Story

College I finally was able to earn my Master's Degree in Criminal Justice and Security Administration. I just attended the ceremony 17 May 08. My mother (Dorothy Miller) and dad (John Berryman) flew in to help me celebrate. It was a wonderful weekend with them here. We walked around much of the Baltimore, MD, Inner Harbor, took a dinner cruise, and just enjoyed each others' company. I'll finish my classes in Aug, but since I only have two classes left, I was allowed to participate in the ceremony. It has not been easy as all my classes have been after my work day, but it has all been worth it. I'm looking at working on my PhD next...after a breather. Military I entered the Army in 1978, and ended up making some decisions that have brought me to the pinnacle of my career with promotion to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five this year. I was in the enlisted ranks from 1978 to 1989, and have been in the Warrant Officer ranks ever since. My career went from the Military Police Corps to my current field of Counterintelligence. Because of my rank I am able to work with all ranks of personnel and have the influence of a Colonel. I will celebrate 30 years of service to our nation next year. I am humbled that I've been given such a great opportunity to be of value. I have finally decided to retire from the military after over 34 years, and will find another job...most likely working with the Department of Defense. -Davidson after I was promoted to Chief Warrant Officer Five, and have loved riding ever since. With the free time I have, I've managed to be promoted within my local HOG Chapter to the position of the Director, and will be finished with that position 1 Jan 2013. I've had a great time and look forward to many more years of riding with the group across the United States just like we did this year when we went from here in MD, to WA and back. Next year we're headed to CA. Riding is the best! The people in my HOG Chapter are awesome! My most favorite way to relax is to get on my motorcycle and just ride. The riding season here in MD lasts from March through October, so I have plenty of time. I lead rides for the HOG members and we get to share time, stories, meet new friends, and just generally hang out. One hero? I don't think I can keep my list to one. My first heroes were my parents who for different reasons taught me to work hard, be the kind of friend I would like to have, that I could be anything I wanted to be, and be honest. My sister has taught me just how important family truly is, and that giving to family is important. My Dad's mother taught me patience, the love of a good story, and that she would always look out for me. My fourth grade teacher helped me believe I was smart, and my fifth grade teacher cemented that thought. I have had so many friends over the years who have taught me how to be a good friend and that friends are very important.
