Christi's Story
I am stuck here, accidentally signed up until Sept. 2016, so I figured its about time for me to change my story. After 46 years of marriage my husband passed away. We had a good life. I met him at Mortons Bowling Alley in 1965. I was only 16. Got married when I was 18. Wonderful man, worked at Cat 33 years then retired.
I was not popular in school and was in no clique and had a horrible time adjusting, dreaded going to school. Got into trouble everyday, So wayward. But I realized at 17 life is made up of about 50 per cent choices, its not all predetermined to be a loser. I met God early in life at 18 and Jesus changed my life drastically. I became the opposite of everything I looked like I was predetermined to be. A loser.
I worked at Ruppman Technologies for 16 years and for the last 11 years I have been head receptionist at the Journal Star. Still working 5 days a week. I bowl on a league once a week. I am on an Advanced Ping Pong League playing with Asians once a week. I volunteer and do administrative work for Right to Life. I work on Ben Carsons Presidential C...Expand for more
ampaign. I teach English and Reading to foreigners at the Peoria Library once a week. I swim twice a week 40 long laps at Riverplex. I ride my bicycle 2 miles a day. I am never home and stay busy.
I miss my husband soo much. I was his caregiver for 6 years. He was a brilliant man and took good care of me.He was on dialysis the last couple years. He had 7 strokes and had multi organ failure. It was horrendous. I did it all with no hospice and he passed away at home.
So now I try and make everyday count. I try and waste no time. Life is short and we are getting old. There is no retirement for me as long as God gives me strength. There is much to do in my world to change. My legend is to work and change what I can and to make a difference in this world to the people that surround me and there are a lot. My legend is love, is caring, and is working hard to change my world. If you would like to be friends on facebook, just post it and I will accept. Love you people from my past. God be with you. Make the right choices. Its never too late. All things are possible with God.
