Christie's Story
I was passed over in high school. Most folks haven't a clue who I was; quiet, shy and a rebel, I spent most of my time out of the spotlight. When I ran into Debbie Harvey here in Salem, Oregon in 1981, she didn't even recognize me although we'd gone to school together since 4th grade. That's how recognizable I was.
While I ran to get away from home and school, I wound up attending college at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida for a couple years. I also attended college in Salem, Oregon. Languages was my passion then, although the only Spanish I speak is tourist--tequila, cerveza, donde esta el bano?
It took me three husbands, living in 14 states from Florida to Alaska and New Jersey to Hawaii to finally figure out what I wanted to be when I grew up--a writer.

rival of one great-grandbaby. (He's already driving his mama crazy with his movement.)
I've published twenty-one books under C.L. Kraemer. I learned to ride a motorcycle(at 61) and, after crashing my first bike and breaking my arm, I'm back up on my Harley Softtail Slim. The hubby is stuck with the Harley Heritage Softtail.
When he and I moved to the Antelope Valley above LA to be near to my parents and younger sister, we visited 29 Palms so I could show him where I grew up. We stayed at the 29 Palms Inn. What a difference. I recalled a vibrant town with lots of activity. Not so much anymore.
We got a real surprise when we met my youngest daughter's fiance. Seems he did a lot of his stateside service in the Marine Corps at 29 Palms. Very small world.
I'd love to hear from some classmates. Seems like just yesterday I was trying to find ways to ditch class.
