Tina's Story
Everyone knew me as Tina. I really enjoyed my time at Edinburg High School. I especially loved chemistry and biology. I was very politically active, protesting the war in Vietnam. I found myself in Mr. Ground's office more than once. I later found out that he just loved debating issues with me. He was responsible for my scholarship to Rice University and became a lifelong mentor to me. I gradu...Expand for more
ated from Rice with a double major in architecture and art. I worked in the artist in schools program all over Texas in film. One of my earlier schools was Alpine. Our principal, Mr. Grounds was the superintendent there. He used to love to go to the teachers lounge and to tell Tina Brawner stories, much to my embarrassment. Later I found out that some considered me the high schools first hippy.
