Christina's Story

Since High School days many changes have taken place. I can honestly say I am not the same person today that I was back in High School. I am no longer shy. :) I married at 24, had given birth to two beautiful baby boys, divorced 20 years later (not something I originally planned on ever doing in my life),found spiritual meaning in my life and grew closer to Jesus and God. My spiritual journey began at 17 and since then God has shown me many things about myself and helped me to grow-up and be a better person and be at peace with myself and others. I've been through many trials over the years as well as enjoyed many joyful times with family and friends. I met a special person in my life at the age of 47 and married this marvelous man who shares my faith in God. I've been married to my husband for almost 8 years now. He has embraced my two sons who are turning 24 and 27 this year in 2010. My first born son has a first born son now, who will be 2 years old next week April 14th. My grandson is the joy of my life. God is so good, even when we mess up. My second and last born son served our country in the Marines for 3 1/2 years, we are all so proud of him, before having some troubles in his life and was discharged. Praise God his life has been spared and he is living in Maryland, working and going to school to study aircraft mechanics and seeking a mate to settle down with. My oldest son is a talented artist that chose to be a tatoo artist and seeking other employment and housing and schooling in order to provide for his little family and marry the mother of his son. He, also, has been going through growing pains and his own troubles. Although I've been going through my own "issues" and dealing with my sons' "issues", I am doing gre...Expand for more
at. I work full-time for the "County" as a civil service worker for 8 years now and I recently completed my Bachelor's degree and will graduate in June 2010. I started out in 1973 after graduating high school, but my life's choices prevented me from completing my degree until now. Better late than never, right? I graduated in 2001 with an Associates Degree in Broadcasting and I have a small business on the side preserving memories on DVD for others and doing Photo montages and I recently started getting involved in my church web streaming our services and doing camera work and anything else needed in the media ministry. I plan to look for other employment opportunities where I can apply my Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and Productions. In the meantime, I enjoy life, enjoy our Lord and Savior Jesus, enjoy my family and especially my beautiful grandson and enjoy everyone I meet and the friends God has blessed me with and enjoy my good health and maintain the best health conditions I can as I turn 55 this year. Anyone that may read this and know who I am you may remember I have Cerebral Palsy. My disability has been a challenge through life, but also a blessing. I am still walking, but now I use a cane, crutches, walker and a cool jazzy motorized chair to get around and keep independent. I still drive my van around and I always believed to be a good and safe driver. I've been driving since I was 17-18 years old. It has helped me to be independent all these years. I am thankful for all the equipment I have in my car to keep me driving. Nothing stops me, unless I myself do or God does. One thing had not changed in me over the years...I still like to talk a lot and write long letters and such like this one. God Bless you all.
