Christina's Story
Life
The youngest of six kids, I grew up on a
turkey farm in Illinois (20,000 birds on
240 acres) until the age of 9 when the family moved to Northern CA. Working together as a team was the pride of my life. All six kids worked to make the farm a success. From the age of 4, I helped herd the turkeys to virgin alfalfa almost weekly, hooking and unhooking the tractors (driven by my brothers) to and from the shelters, feeders and water troughs in deep mud while it was raining. wo shifts of workers to do the slaughtering and processing of the birds, which was accomplished on site in our large barn. My two brothers loved cars and racing even then, customizing a '53 Oldsmobile, even fashioning an automatic button which opened the doors. Geoff even sewed the orange and white interior himself.
My oldest sister had a horse and taught us to ride English and even jump! It was a wonderful life.
One of the things I most enjoy is designing and building stained glass windows, as well as landscaping and gardening.
