Christina's Story
Life
I was born in Harbor Beach, MI and raised in Bad Axe. Moved to Rossville, Illinois my freshman year of high school.
After graduating from Rossville-Alvin, I went to DACC for two years receiving my Associates degree in Accounting, and completed my Tech Prep contract with Heatcraft Refrigeration in Danville. I have now been there for 11+ years.
On September 16, 2000, I married Chad Smith. Chad and I were married in my parents backyard in Rossville. It was a cool sunny day. The ceremony was perfect; except for the 2 trains that went through. He and I moved to Sunset Cove apartments in Danville, IL.
On January 1, 2001, we found out we were expecting our first child. In March 2001, Chad was hired by the Hoopeston Police department and was sent to the UofI for training. And, he was gone for 12 weeks. In May of 2001, we were so excited because we bought our first house. On September 3, 2001 Kylie Ann Smith was born weiging in at 7lbs 5 oz and 20-1/2 inches long. I was so glad the pregnancy was finally over.
Kylie has been in several pageants. She was crowned as the Sunburst Tiny Tot Queen of Illinois in May 2003. ...Expand for more
She went onto the International pageant in Atlanta, Georgia and ranked in the top 10. We were so proud of her. That trip was also our first family vacation. Kylie was also just crowned Tiny Little Miss Sweetcorn in September 2006.
On May 4, 2004, I gave birth to our second daughter, Kairi Marie. The pregnancy with her was difficult, and was so happy when she finally arrived. Kairi is mostly a little Chad. I now know what he put Gretta through when he was little.
In 2005, Jim and Gretta (in-laws) began drag racing after a 12 year break. This is now the hobby the Smith family is involved with during the summer months. Like Ashley Force, Kylie now wants to race a jr. dragster when she turns 8. This past fall, Kylie got to meet Ashley. She had her picture taken with her along with getting her autograph.
To our surprise, I was expecting our third child. Chloe Aleena-Mae was born on October 10, 2005. This was the best pregnancy any women could have wished for. Unlike the other two with blonde hair and blue eyes, she came with brown hair and blue eyes.
Our family life is so busy, but I would not trade it for anything.
