Christine's Story

Life A bio? Geez, how long have you got? Let's see, grew up in the Air Force and joined for a few years myself, so have lived in Virginia, Phillipines, South Carolina, Texas, England, Germany, Delaware, DC, Colorado and, finally, Indiana. Wow, that seems kind of like a let down after Europe, huh? I was stationed at the dental clinic on Bolling AFB, DC for almost 6 years. I'm currently married, although that hasn't always been the case. This one has lasted 11 years, so maybe we're doing something right or maybe we just can't be bothered to change things after this long. You know the whole story about tricks and old dogs. <just kidding> I've got four children, yes that's right, four. Two boys and two girls. My first son was killed just before his 5th birthday by a drunk driver. My first daughter was not even 1 year old at the time, so she doesn't remember him at all. He was a wonderful little boy who lived a lifetime in less than 5 years. I have so many memories and stories that it doesn't seem possible that he was only in my arms for such a short time. Anyway, my daughters are 13 and 7 and the baby (my second son) is 1. ...Expand for more
Yeah, that's right, had my first son lived, I could have one in college, one in high school, one in middle school and one in elementary school all at the same time. No, that was not planned! Just lucky, I guess. :) Anyway, we have three pets, a miniature pinscher, a boston terrier, and a thoroughbred. We go for extremes, apparently. I've been riding for about 3 years now and am currently taking some dressage lessons. My horse is also taking lessons...she's a bit spoiled and untrained. I've had a few accidents with her, including a concussion and a broken shoulder blade, but we're getting better. She doesn't try to throw me anymore, so it's all good, right? I have a degree in Chemistry and a license to teach High School Chemistry and Middle School Science. I am currently working toward my Master's in Chemistry, however, I've had to put that on hold temporarily because I got a teaching job last year. I've taught at the college level for 8 years and now I'm going for the younger kids to try and keep some of the problems that I encountered at the higher level from occurring. I hope! Well, that's the nitty gritty...see ya!
