Christine's Story
After school, I stayed in Elkhart and met my husband through friends. (an Elkhart Blazer) We married in 1979 and lived here til 1986 when we adopted our first son and moved to Michigan where we lived for 17 years. While living in MI, we adopted our second son while doing fostercare.
I had a home based day care for approx. 5 years and when our boys got older and were in school, I worked in retail a few years before opening my own business in Dowagaic, MI and ran a consignment store from Oct. 1996 til Dec. 2000. I closed the shop when my husband developed health issues, which were eventually resolved.

sing my shop I went to work for a friend in Three Rivers, MI who had her own consignment shop and I worked there for 2 years until we decided to build a house and move back to Elkhart. We have been back now for 6 years. Since returning, I have worked 4 years in 2 different child day cares and am currently an Administrative Asst. at a private foster care and adoption agency.
Our boys have been in and out of the house many times. We have yet to start living out "golden years" in privacy. By the end of the year, our first grandchild will be added to the mix. We have 2 cats and my son's dog living with us, as well.
