Steven's Story
To all who read these ramblings Greetings! I'm not sure if more than a few former TriValley alumni would even remember me. After all it's not like I was an academic prodigy or an athletic standout. I actually think I did a great job of flying under the radar during the years I spent at TV. Leaving after my freshman year in 69 though proved to be perhaps the best thing for me. Not that I didn't enjoy TV or my peers, but moving to New Mexico really opened my eyes and provided me with a broader "weltanschauung" than would have resulted had I remained in Sullivan County. And it isn't that I made the most out of the new opportunity at every turn, but we are, after all, only human and part of the human experience is in the mistakes that we at times make.
As far as my years at West Mesa. moving from a small school with a class of about 70 to the largest class in the state of over 500 was more than a bit daunting but it certainly helped vault me into something more than I was or would have been. My parents and three of my sibs still live in the Albuquerque area so I get to visit there on a semi-regular basis. As a matter of fact I will be there the first weekend of 2010 for a brief visit.
So from my TV days and 40+ years on now and I can report, for those interested, that I retired after 28 years of active duty in the Air Force that started in the Vietnam era and ran through the Gulf conflict. I was fortunate to spend 9 years in Europe, a year in Korea and visited many other places outside the continental US , both exotic and not-so-exotic.

nce and going through the second one now.
For the good, I have 3 daughters from the two marriages and 3 step-children that treat me like their real dad. I can also say that after chalking up two crushing losses, I truly believe in the "third times a charm" homily. BTW number three is the one sharing my profile photo and is solely responsible for the twinkle in my eyes and the silly half-smile on my face.
My current job has me traveling the NE quarter of the US... and by NE I mean draw lines from Chicago, IL to Memphis, TN and then from Memphis to Charleston, SC. All US land north and east of those lines are my normal territory. I currently use the Youngstown, OH area as my base of operations. I have made a couple stops in the old Neversink neighborhood in the past few years since starting this job. Was able to hook up with Mike Wolfe on one of the occasions. I have clients not to far from the old neighborhood... Chester, West Point, Rockland, Suffern. Unfortunately the company I work for lost the bid with the Sullivan County Sheriff's department or else I would have had even more opportunities to cruise the old homesteads. But, as a matter of fact I'll be visiting Monroe/Chester site the third week of Jan 2010 to do upgrades to their systems.
I know this doesn't tell anyone much about what I actually did in the past 40 years... but hey, most of it would be very boring anyway.
Anyone wanting to say hello feel free to drop me a line. I know most sites block the actual url but most people I know are smart enough to figure out how to modify this: target(dot)fixation(at)gmail(dot)com
