Christine's Story

Life Right out of my last year of Junior High, my family moved to Galveston, TX. My dad got a job at a major refinery in a nearby city and I have made Texas my home. I still have a sister in Lakeland and visited a few years back and could not belive how big Lakeland has grown since I lived there. I attended Ball High School in Galveston, TX and graduated in 1984. I got married, had kids and divorced. I am married now to my husband Sam of 15 years. We do not have kids together but I have 3 of my own, Michael-22-in college and working on his Masters Degree in Business, Tony-21-Just graduated from the Police Academy and Amber-18-is the proud mom of my first grandchild who was born on June 21, 2004, Xavier Alexander-(we call him Alex). I can't believ he is almost one now. He is our whole world. My husband has 2 daughters that we raised together, Samantha-18-is married and just had their first child on March 6th, 2005-Noah Lee Cepero. Amanda is 16 and attends a private school in Lubbock, TX where she will graduate and attend a junior college on a scholarship. I WAS an Field Rep Recruiter for a merchandising company in Alvin, TX, but just got promoted effective March 1st to Account Manager. My husband is a Professional Driver and drives Tankers. I know it's boring to most people, but I enjoy being Alex's umm.....well 38 years old is TOO young to be a grandma!! So I am a MiMi!! ha ha It's a lot of fun. I am a BIG HOUSTON TEXANS FOOTBALL FAN!! I never miss a game and I am probably the loudest one in the room when a game is on. I go see the Texans play every now and the...Expand for more
n and love it. I have great friends here and enjoy the time we get to spend together. I miss "home" and have only been back to Florida one time on business with my husband and stayed with my sister and her family one night before we had to leave again. Lakeland has grown so much and I got lost. I was only 14 when I moved to Texas so going back was a shocker. I would love to see all my neighborhood friends again one day...Danny Cooper, Patti Cooper, Jennifer Mitchell, Billy Evans, Pam Haynes, Mike Weber, Kerry Evans, Robbie Wommack, Mickey Dumond, Angela Shiflett, Carl Taylor, and anyone else that lived in Shepherd South Neighborhood. Hope to hear from you soon. Workplace I now work for a fast growing merchandising company in Alvin, Tx. I love my job....it keeps me busy all day and there are times I feel guilty for even getting paid because I work with a bunch of great people and it's fun and not your typical work environment. We are all like family. I am a Field Rep Recruiter which means I hire people to work for our Client's company located in Connecticut. We employ over 200 merchandisers all over the United States and ironically, most of our merchandisers reside in Florida. I also have my Real Estate license but it is now inactive. It just wasn't fast enough money for me. Anyway, I work closely with our Executive Account Manager daily, he is teaching me the ropes because he would like to put his degree to work somewhere else one day and will pass his duties on to me. It's great working for a small company that is growing so fast and grows everyday.
