Christine's Story
Hello all....
Where do I begin. After PHS, went off to Salem State College for one year; decided to quit for a while and head off to the working world. Well, that time off extended into a number of years as I worked and went to school nights at STCC and WNEC. Finished my last two years at WNEC full time taking a year and a half to complete so I could get back to the working world. Graduated from WNEC (now WNEU) in 1979 so I lived and worked in the area for just about ten years.
In 1979, moved to Boston area to continue my healthcare accounting/finance career in long term care, home health and behavioral healthcare segments of the industry. In 1990, drove West to CA where I worked as CFO of various healthcare providers in San Jose, San Rafael and Berkeley. Was a great place to live but wanted to come back east even though my last apartment in Alameda, CA had the most beautiful view of the San Francisco Bay with the city skyline. In 1999 flew to DC to take another CFO healthcare position; liv...Expand for more
ed in Palisades which was one of the best neighboods I have lived since a kid in Three Rivers. Left DC in 2004 as I was already traveling east of the Mississippi providing interim healthcare financial positions in Hospitals since 2000. My interim engagement travels have been great meeting new people, seeing cities/towns not on the normal "vacation" route. Of course, I have been in Maine during a winter which fortunately was mild; and I have been in Miami and Mississippi in the middle of the summer so there are some drawbacks but everything is doable.
Fortunately through the years of living away from home my parents were able to visit so they too got to see more of the USA and I was able to spend some great quality time with them. Unfortunately, Dad passed away in 2008; Mom passed away in 2011. While they are greatly missed; we were very fortunate to have had the pleasure of having them here for as long as we did.....we are blessed.
That's my story.....looking forward to reading yours!!
Chris
