Christine's Story
Life
After 30+ years of marriage and raising three kids, I find being a grandma the most fun I've ever had with kids in my life. Now my hubby and I are finally alone with my daughter's cat that we've adopted and refer to affectionately as "Hairball". We travel as much as we can and watch the grandkids as often as possible.
School
I'd have to say Mr. Bascom's senior English class was the most valuable class I took. He treated us like college students which really paid off that fall. Also, his appreciation of writings like Shakespeare, and his introducing us to them, probably is one of the reasons I became an English major in college, and in the end a Jr. High English teacher. But for fun and a crazy time Miss "J" and Bravettes was probably the best time I had in high school.
College
Where to begin. I attended Grossmont College where I completed an A.A.degree then we...Expand for more
nt on to University of San Diego where I got a B.A.in English in 1973. Later when my youngest was a baby in 1982, I returned to Grossmont and completed my Child Development certificate to teach preschool. I founded a preschool in Ramona which is still in existence, and my youngest granddaughter attended. Then in 1988 I attended United States International University to complete my California State Elementary Teaching Credential. I also recieved a supplementary credential in English. I have taught mostly in Ramona Unified, but also in Warner Springs, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Dallas, Texas and most recently in Mira Mesa, in San Diego. I completed my teaching career in June of 2003 after teaching a three year olds class which included both of my granddaughters.
Workplace
Finally made it. I retired this Friday, June 13, 2003 after some 30+ years of teaching. Halleleuh!!!!
