Christine's Story

Life Right now I'm going to UCSC and majoring in biochemistry. I'm living in the dorms, rooming with Sylvia. So far I absolutely love biology and chemistry. I really love calculus too, but I don't think calculus loves me at all. I hate writing courses, but they love me. I ace my writing courses all the time, but they are so much work! Especially if they are taken concurrently with a lab. Do NOT make the same mistake I did and take a writing course in the same quarter you take a writing-heavy chem lab course. THAT was just horrible. I think that life would be much better if there were no gen ed requirements... and if I could just take all math and science (with the occasional elective). But, alas, somebody somewhere ...Expand for more
decided that we need to be well rounded individuals after graduating. Probably making that decision made him/her feel more cultured and progressively-thinking (or something). For my Ethnic gen ed, I'm taking Indonesian dance... which is really like cheating my way out of that gen ed, since it's so easy and fun. Plus you don't learn anything: it's entirely physical and dancing! No academia! It's a good break from studying, I guess. Plus it's five credits. I like to watch Stargate SG-1 and Red Dwarf, which just about sums up any and all of the TV I watch. Oh, and I only watch TV when my internet gets cut off for exceeding the 2 gig per day bandwidth limit that ResNet imposes on us. I'll add stuff here as I think of it...
