Christine's Story
Today, to the VERY few that will see this if anyone
A lot has happened in the past 51 years. In September of 1969, I moved to Woodscross Utah to an Appaloosa horse ranch. I learned to ride horses in my youth at my cousins in Lakeside. Growing up, I mostly rode bareback. I did take English Saddle lessons in Bonita when 11 years old. In Utah I added to my experience riding barrels and stakes. I am not pretty on a horse. More like a sack of potatoes but I stay on real good.
After some years of tragic occurrences, immensely difficult times and 3 children later ( a daughter passing away). I met a tall, dark and handsome man that gave me 2 more children and a wonderful life. He has since passed away 4 1/2 years ago. A whole new chapter has opened up. A little scary but with the support of my wonderful family all will be well here in New Mexico. We have been here for 30 years now. I don't have any plans of moving out of this 3RD WORLD STATE, because my 2 youngest and their families are here.
I have a small business that keeps me busy, active and creative.. I have also joined a hiking group through meetup.com called WOW WE. I have backpacked rim to rim the Grand Canyon the last 2 years. There are beautiful places here in New Mexico and I can't wait to experience them. Just because I call it a 3RD WORLD STATE, because it is in my opinion, doesn't mean it is not beautiful. My new photo was taken 3 years ago ( Nov. 25, 2017) in the Jemez Mountains, over looking Fenton Lake. I still look the same, yea! It takes a ton of work, vigilance, consistency and determination to look and feel as young as you can. And even more so, the blessing of good genes.
I often think about 'the two boys next door', Steven Kagrice, whom I grew up with for 17 years and my summer ping pong buddy, Bruce Stevens. Steve, socked me in the stomach on our way to Murry Manor Elementary school one morning because I asked him what it felt like. Well, I very quickly found out. But no hard feelings, I survived and I had to see him every day. Steve had an air pump rocket we would send up in the air with snails, caterpillars and what ever was readily available of the grub assortment as Astronauts. Good memories. I found Steve just last year and we have reconnected. So great to talk to him again. He is a great guy!

oy to my next door neighbors Jim and Kirsten Money. We spent a lot of time over at the Money's. One night, Mr. Money called Wolf Man Jack and introduced himself as Coyote Jim, I will never forget, it was the funnest thing ever and Mr. Money topped it off by howling into the phone at Wolf Man Jack. Somebody try and beat that, ha ha ha!!! (secretly, I always wanted Bruce to take me for a ride on his little motorcycle. But he never did), where have they gone? NOTE: I found out a few years ago that my ping pong buddy, Bruce Stevens died while in SC. It was Sept. 1 of 2008. I was so immensely sad to hear it. I was noising around on the internet and Bruce's memorial came up that his work place put out. I was shocked! Bruce, I will always remember you. You were always kind, funny, cute, shy and selfless and I wanted you to kiss me so bad, but you never did. You are missed by your little friend down the street, me.
Since high school, I have toured the east coast by motorcycle, attended a party on Norman Lear's yacht, an interesting experience with the phoniest people ever except for Norman Lear's son and his wife whose names have escaped me over the years... I have had a car catch fire in the middle of a busy intersection and an apartment I lived in burn down, NO not my fault. The people 2 doors down from me were at fault. I saved a chick (the feathered kind) from drowning and got a bad Principal at the elementary school fired.
After staying home to raise a family, I went to work for Trane in the Accounting Department and ended up as a Project Administrator in the service department. I quit in 2008. That's when I started my little business.
The politics stink here in New Mexico, in my opinion but the weather and architecture are unsurpassed. We have a couple of acres in the foothills just north of Albuquerque at 6,000 feet. It is beautiful here. We have an incredible view of the western and northern mesa's. July through August is our Monsoon season. We watch the weather systems come and go up and down the Rio Grande Valley, just awesome! We have a large garden and lots of fruit trees, 2 cats to keep the little vermin away and chickens, no rooster; they are nosy and mean. At night the sky becomes a symphony of stars, no light flooding in from street lamps or city lights. A little bit of heaven in a 3rd world state.
