Christine's Story

After a few years of wondering what I'm supposed to be, I finally became a teacher of the deaf/hard of hearing. I teach kindergarten at the school for deaf children here in San Antonio. We are not a signing program. Technology is a wonderful thing and allows our children access to listening and speech. All of our hearing impaired children can hear through hearing aids or cochlear implants. I love my job! It is the most rewarding thing ever though it is high stress. To relieve my stress levels, I have joined Team in Training. This is an endurance training program that also raises awareness and funds to fight Leukemia and other blood cancers. Through the program I have trained for and participated in two century (that'...Expand for more

I am not yet married or have children, though I have finally found that perfect person for me. There are many times where I don't even have to be present to have a discussion with him:-) I am an aunt. My sister has three children ages 7, 5, and 3. I think this is my favorite job of all. My nieces are wonderful, amazing people. It's hard to believe how fast they are growing! My nephew was definitely different. I wasn't sure for a while what to do with a boy. I guess it's a good thing I'm a teacher :-) I would love to hear from my old friends/classmates.
