Christine's Story
Life
After high school I went to college in New York (Long Island) and then transferred to a college in South Carolina. I got my B.S. in biology/marine biology and a M.S. in marine science. I worked as a fisheries biologist for the state of SC for a few years and then moved to California. I got married in 1998 and am still married to the same wonderful man. I have one son, two dogs, three cats, one bird and three fish. I worked at an environmental consulting firm where I got to travel and work with various DoD installations on their environmental compliance needs. I finally quit consulting after 7 years and now work for the State of California at the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board. I work on TMDLs and find the water quality issues facing our state to be very complex and interesting.
School

o this day I will not say who I had a crush on in high school. My science teachers inspired me the most, along with my Ground Aviation teacher.
If I had to do it all over again, I think I would cry. However, if I knew then what I know now, I would have studied harder and not taken life so seriously in high school.
Basically, in my mind, there were no funny, happy or crazy school memories. However, the happiest memory to me was graduating and getting out of Ohio.
College
Absolutely loved college. I loved the freedom from parents and from rules. I enjoyed the opportunity to grow mentally, not only from what I was learning in my classes but what I was learning through the college experience. I wish I could have stayed in school longer; however, I felt that I achieved everything I wanted when I received my master's degree.
