Christopher Assells:  

Chris Assells is happily married to the former Connee Jesse class of '76, has three now grown sons and enjoys talking about himself in the third person, His biggest memories of Columbus Jr High are the Sweet Rolls, shop teachers Busby, Firm, Titmus and Combes(?) and the 9th grade lawn. Memories of his short time at Canoga Park High are minimal at best and fogged by time, Memories of ECR are smoking by the handball courts, getting high across from auto shop, ditching at nutrition (they took attendance 2nd period) and hitchhiking to the beach at the Valley Circle on-ramp by Treeland. Side note - Hidden Hills residents never picked you up. Big thanks to Mr. Carter the photography teacher for giving Chris a D when he deserved an F. Mr Carter made it possible for Chris to graduate. After 20 long weeks at Pierce College he hit the road living for a time in Aspen Colorado, then Florida and then hitchhiking around before returning to California. He eventually ended up living in that house that looked like a castle on Owensmouth just south of Saticoy. You perhaps went to a party there, many did. He met Connee Jesse at a drug and alcohol fueled party there in 1980. She walked in and it was like somebody opened a window and fresh air swept in pushing out the smell of stale beer, overflowing ashtrays and coke sweat. He was immediately smitten. He mostly cleaned up his act. They married in 1984. He has worked as an electronic assembler, dishwasher, cook, janitor, gas station attendant, unloaded semi tr...Expand for more
