Christopher's Story

Life Ok, moved around a lot when I was little, and ended up in Waterford where I spent the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. After that, went to High School at Riverbank High School, made a lot of good friends there, learned about ditching classes, and took full advantage of having a Mom that would fall for it every time I was mysteriously "sick". Stayed at Riverbank until the end of my Sophomore year, which was about that time that my mother re-married and I moved to Lodi, and started at Tokay High School. I had a lot of fun at Tokay, and made some friends that I still talk to today and hang out with everytime I get a chance to make it back home. (You guys know who you are) I did too much to type now, but it was all a blast. Graduated in '97, worked a fun job for about 8 months after that, and decided to head into the Navy (Those recruiters sure are good salesman). Been in the navy now since May of '98, had a lot of good times, also had some bad times, but it has been an experience that I'm glad I took part in all together. I have a little over 2 years left in, and when I'm done with the Navy, I plan on stepping into a job here at th...Expand for more
e Shipyard in Pearl Harbor, doing what I'm doing now in the Navy (Just making a lot more money for it). Hope everyone else has had as much fun as I have. Now I guess we wait for a reunion! Military Started off in Boot Camp in Great Lakes, Illinois, from there I went to Nuclear Field A School in Orlando Florida, finished that up in about September of '98. Went to Charleston, South Carolina for Nuclear Power School, Nuclear Power Training Unit Prototype, and Engineering Laboratory Technician School. After the schools, ended up on the USS Columbus (SSN 762) out of Pearl Harbor Hawaii in April of 2000. 4 Days later, I was on my first Deployment. Did a total of 2 Western Pacific Deployments (6 Months each), and 2 Eastern Pacific Deployments(3 months each) while I was on board, as well as many, many local operations. Hated drills, hated training, loved traveling, made a lot of great friends. Left the Sub in October of 2003, went to Norfolk, Virginia for Radiological Controls Technician (RCT) Qualification School. Finished up there in March of 2004, came back to Pearl Harbor, and have been working at the Shipyard as a RCT since.
