Christopher Donovan:  

in Gainesville during my time at UF. Since law school, I was a Navy JAG for eight years, which I discuss in the military section of the bio, and now I am an attorney for another federal agency. I practice Employment Law, which means I defend the agency in administrative hearings and in federal court against claims of employment discrimination. I enjoy it very much although, at times, it can be somewhat like divorce law, where no one is happy on either side. It's been a fun ride though and, although I travel a lot, I get time to attend my children's ball games and other family activities. We are really enjoying life. Military I had a different kind of military experience in that I went into the Navy JAG Corps directly out of law school. I spent eight amazing years on active duty in the Navy, and was stationed in terrific locations - Seattle, Washington, where my son was born, Charleston, South Carolina, La Maddalena, Italy (my daughter, the middle child, was born in the Naval Hospital in Naples, Italy), and Washington, D.C (other daughter, my baby, was born at the Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland). We were able to travel and see places we would otherwise never have seen had it not been for the Navy, including Newport, Rhode Island, Alaska, the San Juan Island, Spain, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, Scotland, England, and Italy. I have nothing but fond memories of my active duty time in the military. I remain in the Naval Reserves and get my fix once a month.
