Christopher's Story
When I graduated I went to Cal State La with six of the alums. Beverly Fore and others. After two years decided what i wanted was a Christian College. Went to Miracle Valley Bible College in Arizona. Graduated and became a Minister. Still very active as a Activist and decided to do things that minorities were thought could not do in the 70's. I taught myself to snow ski at goldmine ski resort in big bear because the instructors refused to teach me because I was black. I fell about 70 times, but after the 71st time, I learned to plow and ski as good as the next wh guy. Then I was very infatuated with the series "Sea Hunt" with Llyod Bridges so I decided to be a skin (Scuba) diver. Went to Long Beach and San Pedro and found no one wanted to train me. My bones were to big. I could last in class. Every excuse in the world. Finally I found a black Master Diver in the Naui organization and he certified me. I have my activist roots here at Locke. I remember the protest. I remember the watts riot. I remember getting beat up by the police for no reason at all. They needed to practice on somebody, why not me. They did, then gave me a J-walking ticket. I hate with a passion that I had to go to Cal State college and learn on my own what real blacks accomplished in america. ated that. He created gas mask. Why is he not in out history books? Why is Madame CJ Walker, the first millionaire in America. Not black female, but the first female that created beauty products and hair products. Why are we not into that today? We buy it, but we have stop creating it. I'm just a man that wants to bring awareness to the accomplishments we have in America. We will always be Americans. Show us some respect america. I'm Pastor of the Higher Praise Church South in the city of Rialto, Calif. Bringing awareness to all people. The Bible is not a white man's Bible. It has more blacks roots than anything white. We interacted with the Jews10 more than the whites did. This is His-Story. History.
I always wanted to be a football player when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dum idea. As it turns out, they were right.
How do I describe my favorite way to relax?
I decide to go fishing or golfing. Relaxing with the elements bring about real peace
Do I have a Hero?
I have two. Jesus Christ is my hero. I know hero's are not suppose to die, but he did. What's surprising is that he defied death and rose on the third day and told me to I could do the same thing. That's my hero. Second hero is Les Brown. During the 80's I went through some things, but the first black Motivator I saw on T.V. was Les Brown, Mama Mamie's boy. From his talks and inspiration, I am what I am. Thanks Les
