When I graduated I went to Cal State La with six of the alums. Beverly Fore and others. After two years decided what i wanted was a Christian College. Went to Miracle Valley Bible College in Arizona. Graduated and became a Minister. Still very active as a Activist and decided to do things that minorities were thought could not do in the 70's. I taught myself to snow ski at goldmine ski resort in big bear because the instructors refused to teach me because I was black. I fell about 70 times, but after the 71st time, I learned to plow and ski as good as the next wh guy. Then I was very infatuated with the series "Sea Hunt" with Llyod Bridges so I decided to be a skin (Scuba) diver. Went to Long Beach and San Pedro and found no one wanted to train me. My bones were to big. I could last in class. Every excuse in the world. Finally I found a black Master Diver in the Naui organization and he certified me. I have my activist roots here at Locke. I remember the protest. I remember the watts riot. I remember getting beat up by the police for no reason at all. They needed to practice on somebody, why not me. They did, then gave me a J-walking ticket. I hate with a passion that I had to go to Cal State college and learn on my own what real blacks accomplished in america.
