Christopher's Story
Life
I finished high school in 1972, and went to work for a couple of years to earn money for college. I ended up at the University of New Mexico, in Albuquerque from 1975 to 1979. I earned a BA in Anthropology and Journalism (double major). After graduation, I moved to Southern California. I went to work for a specialty publishing company as an Art Director, and eventually became the Executive Art Director for Challenge Publications, supervising 16 monthly titles. I stayed there for about six years. I went out on my own for a few years, and worked for a number of clients, including Steven Spielberg (Hook), Toyota Racing Development, and the Greater Los Angeles Auto Show. During that time, I met my wife, Patricia. We were married in 1984 (on New YearÂs Day). We have two children. Sean, our son, is a Speech and Hearing Pathologist living and working in North Idaho with his wife Laura. They have two children, Cord and Shea. ...Expand for more
Our daughter, Maegan, is a Ph.D in Psychology, and works in Southern California. She lives with her husband Patrick, and daughters Aubrey and Alexis.
Shortly after marrying Patricia, I decided that I no longer lived for the high pressure world of design and illustration. I returned to school and pursued a teaching credential. I earned two MasterÂs Degrees, one in Special Education, and a second in Administration from Point Loma Nazerene University. I went to work for the Los Angeles County Office of Education, specializing in at-risk youth. I recently retired from that job (after more than 20 years).
My wife and I now plan to move to North Idaho, where we own over 10 acres on a lake, and build our dream house. We plan to pursue our writing and art (I am currently writing two childrenÂs books), and enjoy our time walking in the woods, riding our horses, and fishing. It seems that life just keeps getting better.
