Christopher's Story

After graduation I joined the US Coast Guard. My first assignment was with the USCGC Eastwind, which I made two trips to Antarctica; Scott Base and Palmer Peninsula. My next assignment was with the USCGC Bibb, which made weather station patrols in the Atlantic and a cruise to Guantanamo, Cuba. My last duty assignment was with Coast Guard Squadron One, Division 12 in Da Nang, South Vietnam on board the USCGC Point Dume and USCGC Point Orient. After my time with the Coast Guard I worked at Allen Bradley, First Wisconsin Trust Company, Harnischfeger, Sears and Roebuck, SuperAmerica and The Milwaukee Road. Married and had six children, added two-step children and eleven great-grandchildren. Joined the Wisconsin Army National Guard, eventually becoming a Technician with the Guard. I served with the 126th Field Artillery, 132nd Support Brigade and the State Headquarters in Madison. My specialty was in supply, serving in logistics as the State Food Service Sergeant and Food Service Program Manager for the Wisconsin National Guard, with my Federal Civil Service Position with the United State...Expand for more
s Procurement of Fiscal Office in Camp Douglas, Wisconsin. My last position with the Wisconsin National Guard was with the Public Affairs Department as a reporter and photographer. After my retirement with the military, after serving 31 1/2 years, I worked with the Wisconsin State Historical Society as a darkroom photographer and archivist. I also retired from Federal Civil Service and devoted more time to the photography business, Polar Photography, with my wife Eileen. Moving to Madison for a time I worked as a Maintenance Superior for a large 300-unit condominium complex. After six years, I decided to devote more time to the photography business and travel. My free time is spent writing my memoirs, political blogger and Catholic theological studies. My political views are conservative and reflect Roman Catholic Magisterium teachings. I am now an author of several books that are available on Amazon. I do have a web page under “christophermalinger” it is a dot com page. I can be contacted at: polar(at)mwt.net (I DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO CLASSMATES!!!) I am also on Facebook
