Life
Christopher Scripps McKellar is CEO and President of Capella, a real estate developer based in San Diego California. Mr. McKellar began his real estate development career in 1971 and since that time has managed the acquisition, entitlement, financing, construction and marketing of over 7,000 attached and detached homes, 1,600 apartment units, 3.4 million square feet of commercial office, R&D and Industrial space, and many large land subdivisions. All his developments were built primarily in San Diego, Orange County, Reno and Sacramento. Mr. McKellar currently serves on the boards of Landmark Bank, The BishopÂs School, and the Neurosciences Institute and is a member of the Coastal San Diego chapter of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). McKellar has previously served on the boards of Scripps Financial Corporation, San Diego Opera, La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, Medical Biology Institute, UCSD Board of Overseers, Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, St. James by the Sea La Jolla (Vestry), the La Jolla YMCA, and the San Diego Literacy Council.
He is married to Lorna Alksne McKellar, Judge in the California Superior Court, County of San Diego. Together they have seven children and live in La Jolla, California.
