Christopher's Story
Two years after graduation, I moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 1974 I emigrated to the Republic of Mexico. I returned to the U.S.A in 1990.
I had a very difficult time during High School - my father died the starting month of freshman year, 1966. My brother Alexander, who was older and a Vietnam War era Army veteran, died at our home of a self inflicted gunshot wound in 1968. High school years were dark and dreary. I scraped by in academics & PE. Thank you to all who had patience with me.
I had a wonderful encounter with Christians and Christ Jesus that saved me from the loss of my own life at age 19. Some may relate to this:
I John 4:7-12
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifi...Expand for more
ce for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
Two years after graduation, I moved to Albuquerque, NM. After becoming involved in missionary work. I migrated to Ciudad Chihauhua, Chih. Mexico and remained there from 1974-1990. I worked as a missionary in that city as well as with the Tarahumara Indians in the Sierra Madre Occidental.
I married Maria del Socorro in Cd. Chihuahua in 1976 and returned with wife and our three children to the USA in 1990.
Upon return to Albuquerque I worked at University of New Mexico Hospital & studied at the NM State Fire School, Albuquerque Technical Vocational School & University of New Mexico School of Medicine - Emergency Medical Services Academy - graduated cum lauda. I was hired by the Bernalillo County Fire Department as as a Paramedic/Firefighter. I've ascended through ranks to Division Chief.
Retired December 2014.
Best regards to all.
