Chris's Story
Life
A full, happy life since River Dell! With many sides: typical Gemini. :-)
Besides the [PERSONAL] (my wife), these are. . .
[ACADEMIC] I received my B.A. in computer science, summa cum laude, from Columbia University in 1978, and my Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University in 1988. From 1984-1994, I was a computer science professor at Rutgers (back to New Jersey!). I was an award-winning teacher, and a world-renowned leader in Artificial Intelligence and Design. I chaired international workshops, co-managed multi-million dollar grants from the Defense Dept., and was an invited researcher at MIT, IBM Research, and Xerox Research.
[BUSINESS] In 1994, I left academia to create Enchanted Websites (enchantedwebsites.com), and made Who's Who in Executives and Professionals, 1998-99. I've led a small staff in designing and marketing over 70 major websites. (I'm in conversations with some River Dell classmates about creating websites for them!) ion for their quality, including an excellent review from the #1 newstand web magazine, "The Web", a feature on MSNBC's nationally broadcast "The Site", Yahoo's "Pick of the Day", Entrepeneur Magazine, USA Today.
[SPIRITUAL] Interested in applying both traditional mass-market publishing and the latest Web technology toward promoting "spirituality that works", my third career. From 1990-1994, I presented numerous workshops in Boston and New York City on spirituality-related topics. I headed the Education Department for Adidam (a spiritual organization) from 1994-95. In 1994, I launched Adidam's first website, winning awards from Magellan and Lycos. I was manager of the Dawn Horse Press (a publisher of spiritual literature) in 1995. I'm now creating multimedia materials that make genuine spiritual practice accessible to the general public. The first 8 "e-books" in my Practical Spirituality Series (practical-spirituality.com) are now available. [MORE] on christong.com, including pictures!
