Life
My Spouse - Sonya
We met at a Halloween party 1983 and married in 1986. Sonya has a Bachelors Degree in English from the University of Colorado Denver, and a Masters Degree from the University of Denver in Digital Media. She is s freelance editor and book designer.
My Pets
The sea is my hobby (I scuba dive with Alex McIntosh and have done so for over 25 years), but I also had salt water fish aquarium. I lost them in a freak storm in October of 2005; we lost power for 36 hours and I lost the all fish that I have been working on for almost six years. In June of 2018 we adopted two new cats from the Denver Dumb Friends League - Clementine and Sapphire.
My Children
They enjoy playing music. They also love their cats very much. Our oldest, Jessica has a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in Music and Chinese. She is a senior- project software engineer in Chicago. Our youngest, Sabrina has a bachelor's degree with a double major in Japanese and English and a Masters Degree in Library Science. She is a staff librarian in Mahwah, NJ. She lives in Hackensack, NJ just a few mile from where I did my residency in internal medicine.

at end of life; working at Rocky Mountain Senior Care and Bristol Hospice in Denver.
I was full time faculty at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine and was a full professor there, teaching medical students, internal medicine residents from Sky Ridge Medical Center and I helped develop new residency programs throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain West. I am a professor emeritus at Rocky Vista University.
I was the medical director of Hospice of Saint John (this is the Hospice that cared for Brian Kissell before he died), Unfortunately they went bankrupt in 2013. Fortunate for me, the Hospice of Saint John was also able to care for both my parents as they died before it went under.
I was president t of the Colorado Society for Osteopathic medicine in 2013-14. I was President of the Colorado Medical Society for the year September 2003-04. I was president of the Colorado Society of Internal Medicine in 1999-2000.
I am a Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and by the American Board of Osteopathic Internal Medicine. and the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons.
