Christopher's Story
I was Christopher Roche in Sedalia. I went to Middle School there and my first 2 yrs. of High School. ( Smith Cotton ). I had many friends there. I was essentially kidnapped my Sophomore year by my Mother ( with no notice to any of my friends ). This was all just part of an internal family discord. That itself was quite nuts. I missed all my friends, and Sisters who stayed. Laura Roche class of "82" and Melanie who went to Sacred Heart. I was brought up to Minneapolis. Which was a very big change. From a small southern town to a large city. I was Christopher Robertson in Minneapolis and attended (rarely), (Central) and (Washburn) High Schools. I changed my name back to my birth name Lauff, after the military. My only picture's are in the "81" yearbook at Smith Cotton (Chris Roche), and the '82' yearbook at Washburn (Chris Robertson). I lived at the Creek Terrace Apts. on 53rd & Lyndale. I worked as maintenance there in the building, and as a bagger/stock at the Red Owl Grocery store that was on 54th and Lyndale. ock, for their $0.99 movies. I was a BIG partier and rarely went to classes. I would hang out near the backdoor smoking and waiting to see who wanted to go downtown, to the lakes, the bowling alleys, Lake Street or down by Minnehaha Creek to drink and/or get baked. I sponsored many a kegger down at the Creek. I really liked Jodi Marchiafava, she was in the class of '82' and I'm really hoping that she joins this website. I dropped out in '83' to join the Navy. It was really a blast. They put me on one of Ronnie Reagan's new Fast Frigates, we went all over the Caribbean, up and down all of the East Coast, and a NATO North Atlantic cruise. I lost touch with Jodi during that time and have been searching for her for over 30 years. After the Navy, I lived, worked and traveled all over the country. My most proud achievement is having planted over 3.5 million trees in the Rockies and West coast. It took over 12 years, and would be a line of trees 10ft. apart from N.Y. to L.A. 2 1/2 times. I've lived in Fargo for almost a decade now. I'm on Facebook at Christopher Lauff in Fargo, ND.
