Christy's Story

Life Wow! A life Bio, now there's a scary thought. Most of the people that are from Ponca that visit my bio, will probably not remember me. I was the one that people thought I couldn't talk, I was that quiet. Unfortunately I didn't make any impression on anybody, and I was probably perceived as stuck up, or maybe just down right weird. What I didn't know is that I suffer from General Anxiety Disorder. I was preoccupied and worried all the time. I dont know how I even made it through highschool! I just thought everyone had it easier. Now I am 34 years old, I have made it through and I am so loud and obnoxious, and discovered I have a huge back bone. (so much so it will get me into trouble some day) I am the extreme opposite of what I used to be. I love to be the life of our girl's night out, and my mission in life is to make people laugh. I graduated from Jenks Highschool in 1990. Go Trojans. I moved from Tulsa in 1991 to be closer to family in LA. My parents moved to Ghana, West Africa, to be Foursquare Missionaries. It was tough! My Grandfather passed away, and my Grandmother and I moved in together. I gave up my dreams of college, and worked to help keep a roof over our heads. In LA you can easily spend $1,000 a month to live in a dump. We qualified for some sort of aid, and moved into a luxury apartment. In 1992 I met my husband, Lee Lorenz. He had just left the Air Force, and Desert Storm. We married on Jan 1, 1994. We tried for a few years to have children, but finally decided that Paramount CA wasn't the place to raise kids. So, we loaded up our 96 Kia Sephia (what a bunch of junk that car was) and moved to Tulsa. My husband, a Wisconsin boy, had to get used to the Redneck, Country Music playing, etc. On July 2, 1997 after many miscarr...Expand for more
iages, trials and errors, I gave birth to Austin Gregory Lee Lorenz. I was shocked! I had been told that I would never get pregnant or carry a baby to term. Then in 2001 you can imagine how more surprised I was to give birth to Jarod Victor Lee Lorenz. My oldest son, Austin has taken on the Fisher side, (poor thing) and Jarod is a clone of his father. Austin is loud, Jarod is quiet. In 2003 I graduated with a 4.0 average at Career Point Institute. I decided to go back to school and become a Medical Secretary. I hadn't been back to school since highschool. I felt a little goofy for going, but I made wonderful friends. I spent most of my 20's locked up in my apartment because I just couldn't handle going out a whole lot. I was scared to be around a lot of people. And I was continually depressed. Somewhere around turning 30 I learned about GAD and I got a handle on my life. I wish I had the personality I have now, when I was in highschool. Perhaps I could have made a better impression, and been a bit more memorable. Today, I am working at Saint Francis Hospital. Yes, the ugly pink hospital. And if you ask me, I can tell you why it's pink. I am responsible for maintaining patient charts in the Medical Records Dept. I work beside my best friend, Marie. She met a cousin of mine on the internet. She is from France. Yes, internet marriages do work out. They are celebrating their 7 wedding anniversary. My parents are retiring from being missionaries in Africa. They have been missionaries since 1991. Last Christmas was our first Christmas together in 9 years. My boys were so excited, and spoiled! Drop me an email and let me know what is going on in your life. Everyone is welcome, and every email will be answered. I can't wait to hear from you.
