do the wood working when the winter snows came and I couldn't work in the pasture any more. Oh; and my wife wanted me out of the house too. Can't figure that one out? Much of the wood work I do has carvings on it and hidden images; like a Bev Doolittle painting. I have sold some of the work and given a lot of it to the kids. Our house is full of my wood furniture. I still do the hunting thing, some fishing and hiking. I did do a lot of white water rafting for 17 years, but this year (09) decided to hang it up. I have rafted in all the western states and Canada with many good friends. Maryann only took a few trips with me; getting wet all day, then sleeping in a tent, and cooking over a fire didn't interest her too much. She did enjoy the BS stories around the campfire though.".

Scouting the pasture before I begin my hunt. Yes; it is a real deer; I had to put corn under the window to get him up.
Going fishing; no deer to hunt.
First day of deer hunting season at the Quinn's.
Bears below our house; picture taken off back porch.
Looks like we have a "hippie" deer in the pasture this morning. Ok, Ok, she is eating a corn cob.
A couple of deer in the front pasture getting to know each other.
Here is a Pileated Woodpecker off our back porch. Notice the smoke in the picture? Well, it is from a 4200 acre fire burning about 5 miles south of us. It is 20% contained but no rain in site for another 10 days and
Well, we were lucky again; this time to see a Great Horned Owl just over our back porch. The smoke is still here and the fire only expanded 300 acres yesterday. The forest service has 400 fire fighters working on it and
Well, we have a new visitor trimming our shrubs. Hope she does a good job.
Mama and baby California Quail, visiting after hatching under shrubs on our mound.
They are growing up.
Check out the chicks.
Some fun to watch.
More quail.
When we didn't answer the doorbell she thought she'd check to make sure we weren't home. She is looking through our front window.
I think he wants some more attention???
