Christy's Story

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED TO CHRIS Sept. 2008 During Dec.66 & Jan.67 I had some major changes in my life. The first thing that happened,my boyfriend and I split up just before Christmas after a 3 1/2 year relationship. Then at the beginning of Jan.67 my dearest friend Susan Pendley (class of 68) and I were in a serious car accident. Susan suffered a broken neck and was in intensive care for about 7 weeks. I had severely bruised knees. Neither one of us was driving and thank God Susan's neck healed up nicely. Then shortly after the accident my mom and dad got back together after they had been separated for almost 4 years. My dad had a beautiful home in Hermosa Beach and my parents decided to move to Hermosa instead of my dad moving in with us in South Gate. All of this happened within just a few weeks! Things turned out for the best (except what happened to Susan). Moving to Hermosa was the best thing that my parents ever did for our family. Hermosa was beautiful. ean from our living room window. I was living a completely different life style. I was cruising the strand on my yellow bike instead of cruising Tweedy Blvd. in a yellow T-Bird! I still live within a short distance of the ocean and I always will. In the 80's I worked at Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo for 11 years (great job). Currently I've been working as a Senior Secretary for a private school on the west side of L.A. going on 10 years and I love what I do. Susan and I are still the best of friends. Sadly I never had any children. My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary this coming Thanksgiving in a cozy little cabin near Lake Arrowhead. Even though I didn't graduate in South Gate's class of "68" I still feel very much a part of the class because I have so many memories of my classmates since the first grade at Victoria Ave. Elementary School to my 11th year at S.G. High School. LOVE AND GOOD HEALTH TO EVERYONE, CHRIS P.S. My husband recently bought a new cruiser bike for me, it's "candy apple red".
