Chrystal's Story

Life After high school, I attended Yavapai College and in 1991 I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where I finished college. After graduating, I became a licensed CPA and travelled extensively and intensively for work and play and managed to hit 5 continents in about 3 years - really got a kick out of Asia, having custom suits and shoes made for next to nothing. By far enjoyed the Hawaiian islands best, mainly because it feels like you are travelling abroad, but don't have to deal with foreign currency and foreign languages and signs you can't read, and because Safeway and Costco and a 24 hour 7-11 always seem to be close by in a pinch for the late night snack run (something you can't do in most other countries is fail to plan and keep emergency supplies on hand!) Somewhere in there I got married, had 3 wonderful kids, got divorced and remarried and currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our family includes our 12 year old daughter - Shelby Leigh - born 3/6/01, 10 year old twin boys, Jordan & Isaac, born 6/3/03. Currently working for Safeway headquarters in Norcal as Internal Audit Manager for Western U.S.. Looking forward to seeing everyone again at the next reunion! School Hey, for a good chuckle, pull out your '85 yearbook and check out my "then" photo! Hee haw! I can honestly say looking back that I completely wasted my high school years. It was all I could do to just lay low and make it through to whatever came my way next. I surely had a guardian angel is all I can say! College Graduated from Cal State Hayward in 1994 - B.S. in Accounting (there is a joke in there, I think). Had alot of fun going and partying in the City (San Fra...Expand for more
ncisco) for various "school" functions. Still getting all that high school stuff out of my system I guess. Boy is S.F. different from Cottonwood (your not in Kansas anymore Dorothy). Am glad to have all that behind me doing much more useful things with my life now :-). College days included: Beer making, discovering the internet (before AOL!), viewing everything online in the old DOS format (before color monitors!)- it was kind of neat being on the cutting edge in silicon valley/bay area when all that was going down. Met alot of neat "techie" people in those days. Downloading monty python scripts, latenight stuff, clubs, etc. Workplace Lots of administrative/accounting jobs getting through college. Then after graduating in 1994, went to work with Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco, KPMG Peat Marwick in Oakland, Chiron Corp (Biotech Company) in Emeryville, Ernst & Young in San Francisco as a Systems Consultant, Sola Optical (lens manufacturer - funny ticker symbol is SOL) as Sr. Finance Director for North & South America (did press release/analyst write-ups & conferences), then decided to have kids and become a stay at home mom iall n a span of about 7 years. Got bored after about 1 month of that, so got my securities license (series 6, 7 & 63) worked with Primerica Financial for awhile as a financial planner, got my real estate brokers license and sold real estate & mortgages, and in the meantime did some personal investing in commercial & residential real estate in CA, HI, NV & AZ. Now I work for the Department of Treasury in San Francisco, and commute between Cottonwood & San Francisco on the weekends while waiting for a transfer to Arizona.
