Chuck's Story
Life
After graduation, I turned my part time job at Greenwood's into full time employment. I wasn't satisfied that my life was fulfilling, so I joined the U.S Navy in August 1961. Smart move. I served over six years in the submarine service during the Cold War and the Vietnam War. My experiences were mixed, but character building. I also got a great advanced education to carry me the rest of my life. I was married and had two children while in the Navy. I decided to leave Naval service in 1967 and settled in Pocatello, ID. when an opportunity opened up with GTE in Everett, WA.
I held various positions with GTE (Verizon) until my early retirement in 1993. I did a variety of work until 1997 when I joined Telecom Network Specialists as an applications engineer. I am a project manager for them in their engineering department now. It's great; no stress.
My great diversion is serving as a crew member for a full up sprintcar. I've had the opportunity to rub elbows with the best race car drivers in the world. Ever hear of the World of Outlaws?
I'm still going hard and still learning. I love life.
