Chuck's Story
Life
In 1980 I became a member of the DuPage County Sheriff's Department. Soon thereafter, I was actually given a gun and a badge! Very scary for someone who was voted the class drunk! In 1990, I took a position as a Deputy Coroner with the DuPage County Coroner's Office. (dead people don't talk back!) No, I do not cut people up. However, if Cunningham can't fix them up in surgery and they die, then he will pass them on to me. Currently, I am the Chief Deputy for the DuPage County Coroner's Office.
I met my wife, Mary in 1988 and we were married in 1993. Mary is currently an Evidence Officer for the DuPage County Sheriff's Office and has been there for 17 years. Our daughter, Morgan attends 4th grade at Everegreen School in Carol Stream. She is very active in basketball and tr...Expand for more

Cunningham and I still drink, just not as much and not as often. We can no longer keep up with Sam!
Workplace
GOING FROM A LONG-HAIRED, REBELLIOUS, VOTED CLASS DRUNK TO A SHORT-HAIRED, BADGE CARRYING, GUN TOTTING DEPUTY SHERIFF. (UNLIKE BARNEY FIFE, THEY DID ALLOW ME TO CARRY MORE THAN ONE BULLET. THEY EVEN ALLOWED ME TO BE A MARKSMAN ON THE S.W.A.T. TEAM!) IN 1990, I BECAME TO A DEPUTY CORONER INVESTIGATING DEAD, SMELLY, STINKY BODIES. LIKE FIGHTING WITH DRUNKS IN A BAR FIGHT WASN'T MORE FUN. AS OF DECEMBER 1, 2004, I RECEIVED A PROMOTION FROM NEW DUPAGE COUNTY CORONER PETE SIEKMANN (ALSO A WEGO ALUMN) FROM ADMINISTRATOR TO CHIEF DEPUTY. WHEW! THE THOUGHT THAT I AM STILL ALIVE IS AMAZING! I AM TRULY BLESSED AND WOULD NOT HAVE CHANGED A THING!
