Chuck's Story
Chuck is a nationally-recognized design-build custom home builder and remodeler and owner of Chuck Miller Consulting LLC, Chuck Miller Education Services LLC, and former President and CEO of Chuck Miller Construction Inc.
Chuck Miller Consulting LLC provides construction consulting including Business Planning and Coaching for Builders, Remodelers, and small construction businesses; Mediation, Arbitration, Independent Decision Maker, and Expert Witness Services; and Construction Project Management for Owner-Builders. Our clients are small volume builders, remodelers, and construction trade contractors; government licensing board, attorneys specializing in construction related issues, and owner-builders undertaking residential or light commercial construction projects.

Chuck is a Construction Disputes Resolution Services trained construction mediator, arbitrator, and dispute resolution board member.

Chuck Miller Consulting’s clients also include the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses Idaho Contractors Board for which he reviews investigative reports on consumer complaints against contractors based on the Board’s laws, rules, and code of ethics, provides a written evaluation of the information in the report, noting any perceived errors, omissions, or irregularities regarding the techniques, practices, and conduct of the contractor involved and provides his c, professional opinion regarding the quality of the services provided, the ethical appropriateness of the client/professional relationships, other areas appropriate to the allegations or evidence, and other information believed to be relevant, including scope of practice and ethical issues consistent with the appropriate Idaho laws and rules and any applicable ethical codes governing practice, and rendering his expert witness testimony regarding his assessment of the contractor’s compliance with the statutes and rules governing practice under Idaho law.

Chuck is the author of “Plan To Profit: Business Planning for Builders and Remodelers” The residential construction industry is important to the financial health of the nation. However, small businesses in the construction industry have the second highest failure rate of all industries. Chuck is committed to decreasing that failure rate by sharing his knowledge and expertise with other construction industry professionals.

Chuck Miller Education Services LLC provides professional education services with a focus on Builder, Remodeler and Realtor education. Chuck Miller Education Services is a licensed provider of National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) professional education courses and Chuck Miller is an NAHB Instructor.
Chuck is also a Jack Canfield’s Success Principles trainer.
Chuck Miller Construction
Chuck Miller Construction Inc. was a nationally-recognized design-build residential and commercial builder/remodeler. As President and CEO, Chuck was responsible for general management, accounting, marketing, estimating, budgeting and cost control, trade contract administration, purchasing, client contract preparation and administration, customer relations, oversight of field.
Education and Construction Experience
Chuck began his construction career in 1968 as an apprentice carpenter. He became a journeyman carpenter in 1972, worked his way through college, and graduated from Western Illinois University where he majored in Construction Technology and minored in accounting, business management, and real estate. He has been involved in the design and construction of single and multi-family residential, commercial, and institutional projects across the United States.
After graduating, Chuck was a Site Engineer, Quality Control Representative, and Superintendent on a number of projects for Carney General Contractors, a general contractor specializing in government projects. He was responsible for onsite contract administration, payroll, cost control, scheduling, and quality assurance inspections.
In 1975, Chuck went to work as a Project Engineer for Morrison-Knudsen Company, Inc. (M-K), an international general contractor. As Project Engineer, he was responsible for contract administration, estimating, subcontract administration, purchasing, budgeting and cost control, change order management, and scheduling on a number of projects including military housing, the Day lodge at Timberline on Mount Hood, Oregon, a medium security prison, and the rehabilitation mid and high-rise apartment building in the largest cooperative housing development in the world.
Chuck left M-K in 1985 and went to work for Hunt Building Corporation, the largest design-build builder of military housing projects in the United States where he served as Project Engineer and was responsible for contract administration, subcontract administration, purchasing, budgeting and cost control, change order management, and scheduling on a number of private apartment complexes and military housing projects.

several building companies and was responsible for general management, development of specifications, estimating, budgeting and cost control, subcontract administration, purchasing, contract preparation and administration, customer relations, scheduling, oversight of field operations, and management of warranty service for multiple custom home and light commercial projects.
He founded Chuck Miller Construction in 1998
He became a member of his local home builders association, the Building Contractors Association of Southwestern Idaho (BCASWI), his state home builders association, the Idaho Building Contractors Association (IBCA), and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) in 1990 and has been active in each ever since joining.
He is a Past President and Life Director of the BCASWI, Chairman of its Ethics and Arbitration Committee and Education Committee, and serves on the Builder / Developer Council, the Membership Committee, Sales and Marketing Council, and its Political Action Committee.
He is a Life Director of the IBCA.
He is a Life Delegate of NAHB, a member of its Business Management and Technology Committee, Education Committee, a trustee of the National Sales and Marketing Council, a past Chairman of both the Graduate Remodeler Board of Governors and the Graduate Builder Board of Governors, and a past Trustee of the NAHB Remodelers Council. He is also a member of NAHB’s Spike Club – the recruiters of new members to NAHB and has achieved Super Spike status having earned 260 Spike credits.
He has earned eleven (11) of the thirteen (13) professional designations offered by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Chuck’s community service includes building the 2003 St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital “Dream Home” and raising over $750,000 for the hospital.
He serves on the Ada County Building Board of Appeals.
He was a Boise City Public Works Commissioner from 1999 to 2003.
He has presented NAHB’s “Homes of Our Own” programs to teach children, young adults, parents and teachers about home building, environmental issues, and careers in home building industries.
Chuck was also a Reserve Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Ada County Paramedics and was named 2014 Reserve of the Year and presented with the 2014 Directors’ Award for “Community CPR Outreach”
Chuck is married and his wife Monica is a retired Certified Critical Care Nurse and Clinical Documentation Specialist. Chuck has two (2) daughters, Lindsay and Courtney. Lindsay lives in Los Angeles, California and works for Apple TV. She has been a guest on The Talk on CBS and the Kelly Ripa Show. She is also marathoner You might have seen her photo on the bas stops in Chicago during the Chicago Marathon.. Courtney lives in Boise and is an a Account Manager with Mercer Insurance, She also teaches aerial yoga.
Chuck has four step-children. Sierra is Doctor of Psychology and manages a research department at Arizona State University. Zoe works for Google in Mountain View, California. Simon is a Librarian with the Boise Library. Adrian is currently working on his masters degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
