Time for another update from “Alaska The Last Frontier” or “The Life & Times of a Crazy Old Fart”
To start some sad news, my sister Angela past away this year. Sister Debby & I came down and we along with Angela’s children and grandchildren and one great along cousins spread her ashes at Lay Lake (she had a place there and wanted be there). Angela is now pain free and with Lord.
Last December I went to Tampa’s Laser Spine Institute for back surgery for a sciatic nerve and hope to never have pain like that again. ( Dr. Davis is who you want if you need to go there) As sister Debby said “this getting old is not for sissies “
Alaska Mining & Diving is doing well. We had a fair year, mining, boat & ATV sales were good and Sea-Doo sales were great now hoping for a lot of snow & great Ski-Doo sales.
Linda and I got in some camping (RV’ing) this year & got to go to Denali National Park’s 100th B-day (see pic’s)
There are some new pic’s one at my new great grandsons 1st B-day. And NO making fun of the ‘man boobs’. My Baby Girl is moving to Ohio. But like so many that leave here she may be back.
Hoping all is well with Yal and let me know if you come up to Alaska for a visit. P.S.it looks like it’s getting time to start saying “ Happy 65th “ my mine doesn’t believe it but my body does.
2013 UP DATE SIXTY THAT'S 60 YEARS OLD !! This year we bought a Duplex & moved out of the condo. and Linda got me a new F150 Ford P/U with all the bells & whistles for my 60th B-Day.
UPDATED NEWS 2012: I havn't been on here for a while. I have been busy with work, we (AMDS) have become an empolyee ownd company. Please do visit us at akmining.com . Mom past away this spring and we buried her & Bob up by Hank Williams. We did make it back to see her right before the end. Sorry I did not get visit with anyone but family but I need not tell you there was alot going on.

Alyeska, the place we went the first day we meet. Not sure how country boy who was lucky to have made it through high school ended up with an uptown girl with a masters. She's an Investigator for the Alsaka State Commission For Human Rights. She is from Boise, Idaho & went to Boise State.
Life
2005: Moved to Alaska in 1975, worked for Alyeska Pipeline as a capital property accountant, then ARCO as a plant & warehouse accountant in Anchorage, then w/ARCO I went to Prudhoe Bay oil field materials group and worked a week on / week off for 14 years and loved it! then retired (one of those we're down sizing and you're retired) did some contract work w/VECO on the North Slope(oil field) 2&2, also CANMAR on a drill ship in the Arctic Ocean 4&2. Had a roller rink at this time. After CANMAR, sold rink and became a manager for Sports Authority in 94, and I'm a manager at Alaska Mining & Diving Supply now. It is so much nicer working for a local over a corp. You can visit akmining.com to see what products we have.The two owners work there and they started it right out of high school as a small mining supply shop and have grown the company to where it is today. We are the largest Ski-Doo Snowmobil dealer in the world.
Got married in 86 to a lady(Wanda) w/5 kids(3 girls & 2 boys)and divorced in 96. Just my luck she was a con looking for a slope worker. Of course I like to believe "she was GOOD at it" better than "I was STUPID". BUT after going from being 'WELL OFF' to losing almost everything I had to learn how to depend on the Lord and He met my needs even when all I got was 253.96 a paycheck & the IRS got the rest for a year(one of Wanda's scam's w/the rink) AND I did get her oldest daughter in the separation & divorce (Wanda used Lisa's name on some things also) SO now I have a wonderful baby girl (Lisa) w/4 grandkids. Lisa is only 15 yr's younger than I (Wanda was older than I) we both lived in the Mat-Su Valley about 50 mi's north of Anchorage. LOVE LIVING in ALASKA !! TRULY GOD'S COUNTRY!!
