Chuck's Story
Life
After high school I messed around in college for a very brief amount of time and then joined the Army.
After getting out of the Army, I returned to Cheyenne and have remained here since.
I am a 13-year member of the Cheyenne Gunslingers Association and volunteer my time when I can to other causes.
School
I spent a lot of time with friends and did a lot of goofing around during high school - and I wouldn't change a thing. Well, maybe a couple things...
College
The first time through college I was bitten by the party bug pretty bad. The second time around I was all business. Dean's list and all... (I know, hard to imagine, huh?)
Workplace
I am now working for the new combined communications (Police,...Expand for more
Sheriff, Fire & Ambulance) in Laramie County. Keeps me busy. When I'm not doing that, I'm also a Deputy Coroner for Laramie County as well.
Military
After completeing basic training at Fort Knox, KY, I attended AIT at Fort RUcker, AL, then to my permanent station, Fort Campbell, KY.
My unit 1/58th Avn. Regt. was part of the XVIII Airborne Corps. My battallion was at Fort Bragg with the 82nd Airborne but my company was at Fort Campbell with the 101st Airborne. I spent a lot of time working with the 160th Task Force and with the 5th SOG.
I was wounded while overseas in Desert Storm Part I and medically discharged with service connected disabilities for my knee and back.
If I had it to do over again - I would!
