Chuck's Story
Life
45 years in a few sentences (any grammer or spelling errors is my message to AHS teachers to try harder).
After Abilene, track scholarship to SMU (good thing, I couldn't afford to pay to go anywhere). I took advantage of the opportunity by making low grades and missing classes. Before almost flunking out I married Pat Wright (61) after my Soph year. Grades improved, graduated, got job as a stockbroker, no promotions after 40 years.
My son and 2 sons-in-law are brokers, too. We all live in Plano, where Pat's the mayor now 5 yrs, 2 to go. I spend most of my time mowing it seems this time of year. I think of Bill Reese (62 Drum-Major) every day. el. Bill died in Viet Nam, but shaves with me daily.
If there was one thing I could change in my life, it would have been to take typing. My appearance hasn't changed, so if you don't remember me look in the flashlight and imagine more hair but with gray highlights. Everything else is the same.
I've learned that your feelings can get hurt by reaching out to 62 classmates. People who were best friends never heard of me, even after some clues. Like Jack North who I called the other day. Sorry, I don't remember you. North Jr High, ran track, wore glasses (Judy Malone dumped me in the 7th grade when I got glasses, I'm sure that was the reason), Nope, sorry .
I guess my footprints at AHS weren't as deep as I thought.
Life is good- hoping for more of the same. I hope yours is good, too!
