Chuck's Story
I think often of many of you guys from NE High, and faculty too. I recall bumping into several NE's while living in Hawaii in the early 80's. I spoke with Bridgett Borm for over a year on the phone (she worked in Honolulu Banking)conducting business before I realized it was Bridget Borm from NE High. I also bumped into Delores Rhodes who worked directly a crossed the street from my office (in Waipahu, Oahu) for several years before seeing her! I ran into Bob ?? in the absolute middle of NOWHERE! Driving through Kansas on Rt. 66, (I always wanted to drive Rt. 66 so here I was with Brenda my very young wife) in route to Ft. Lewis as a young soldier. The traffic from Rt. 66 was detoured for about 10 miles to a very rural bumpy road. I stopped for gas and drinks and Northeast own Bob was behind the counter, we both just busted out laughing in amazement. I asked why are you here in the middle Kansas?? He said he wanted to try a nice quiet place for a year or so in the middle of the famous Rt. 66, we both agreed, You found it!
Music never stopped, even in the military with no hair I played concerts with BB King, sat in with Heart (local Seattle band at time) every place I've lived the doors opened, BB King, Greg Allman, Ann and Nancy Wilson (Heart), Kenny Loggins (local Seattle area boy), Vince Gill, Gladys Knight, Carlos Santana, ZZ Top, and many mo...Expand for more
re. I can only attribute all the opportunities to being in the right place at the right time. I must say I liked the Allman bros band the best, something about playing slide guitar and the B3 organ.
Many changes from the loud concert playing days, I'm still active and play almost daily, but I'm writing and playing a different style, Contemporary Christian! Who'd a Guessed??
Look for my new CD finished 2012, released 2013 titled "Well Done", it's only available online for the time being. If you enjoy Contemporary Christian music formatted in R & B, Good Rock, Outstanding Harmonies, B3 Organ, Brass Section, slide guitar, concert piano, full Black Church Choir, and super female African American backup harmonies you will love this Praise and Worship CD.
My producer is Grammy Winner Jay Kenny, and all my songs are master by Rick Fischer, who happens to have gotten many Motown groups started, and managed Steve Miller Band for 25 years, he is the who to go to guy in the music industry for A-List Sound. Now Rick is Managing, Producing, Mastering the who's who in the Rock World. You name em and Rick has something to do with their group, great people who have helped me considerably.
