Charles's Story
Life
Graduated from high school in Delray Beach, Florida before attending San Angelo College (now Angelo State [Texas]). Went to Korea and Hawaii with 25th Army Division before attending North Texas State where I received B.E. and M.Ed. degrees.
Met wife (Virginia Cobb) at Ridgecrest Baptist Assembly before coming to Panama City, Florida where we raised two boys and two girls and their seven children.Coached basketball and football on high school and jr. high levels, ending up the final 27 years at Bay High School. In 1976 our football team won the state championship over--wouldn't you know it--the high school I graduated from--Delray Beach High School (Atlantic High School).
My wife was a teacher, also, and retired in 1995, three years after I made the move. We have seen this area gro...Expand for more

School
Was fortunate to have gone to many schools and met many people in Texas and Florida. Attended schools in Wichita Falls, Brady and Byers in Texas; New Smyrna Beach, Vero Beach and Delray Beach in Florida. Still remember outstanding teachers at all of them. Graduated from Delray High (been to two reunions there in last five years)in 1947. Dr. Hamilton, later a vice-president at Florida State University, had more impact on my life than any other educator. He taught several courses at Delray and I was fortunate to be selected to go to a journalism conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with him and four young ladies. Loved Delray Beach High!!
