Cindi's Story
Life
When I graduated high school I moved to Louisiana with my mom and step dad. I worked at Burger King there. In 1989 I moved back to Michigan and joined the Air Force on 26 July 1989. Basic training was in San Antonio, Tx, and my technical school for Non-Destructive Inspection was in Champaign, IL. I was inspecting F-15s & F16s for cracks and x-raying the wings for water damage in the honeycombs. From there I was stationed in Phoenix, AZ where I got married. 1 1/2 yrs later I divorced and crossed trained into Financial Management. I moved to Wichita Falls, TX for another technical school and then moved on to Omaha, NE from 1993-1996. Then I went to Osan, Korea for 1 yr and returned to Panama City, FL in 1997. While I was stationed in FL I gave birth in 1999 to my beautiful baby boy I named Brandon Scott Balla. Can you believe he was 9lbs 1/2oz? What a porker! I guess I ate too many bananas while I was pregnant. lol When Brandon was turning 2, I deployed to Curacao, Netherland Antilles in the Carribean for 3 months (it was awesome). From FL we moved to Salt Lake City, UT from 2003-2006. While we were in Utah, we took several road trips around the states each year. In 2004, 5, & 6 we drove to Las Vegas and watched the Monster Jam World Finals. Those are some of the best times of our lives. I ...Expand for more
want to be a monster truck driver when I retire. Heck, I might even get to drive the Air Force Afterburner. In 2005 we drove through Yellowstone National Park, went to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota. We rode on the Black Hills train behind Mt. Rushmore and while we were on the train, my son lost his first tooth. From there we went to Michigan, to Florida, to Texas, drove up to the top of the Capulan Volcano in New Mexico (which is now sealed off) where we picked up some lava rock. After that we drove to the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado. I put 6000 miles on my truck that road trip all by myself. In 2006 we drove through St. Louis and went up to the top of the Arch, then went to Michigan for a family reunion, and back to Utah to move to Alaska. I attended our 20 yr class reunion in August 2006 and had a blast at the bonfire at Kim Phillips and her husband's house. We were stationed in Anchorage, Alaska from 2006-2011. Then we went to why not Minot AFB in North Dacolda. I retired in July 2013 after 24 years of active duty in the United States Air Force. I wanted to retire and move to Colorado Springs, CO but ended up in Rockledge, Florida near my mom. My son graduates high school in 2018 and I am leaving this hot state. I miss the snow! So this is my bio for now. I'm sure I'll be adding more later.
