Cindy's Story

Hello Everyone! It's amazing how as the years pass things change so very much. I still drive a school bus, and still love it. Although I've always sworn if our school district ever went to a bus company, I would probably leave the profession for good. Nearly 22 years is alot, so whatever will be will be. But for now, I'm happy! I'm still married to the same wonderful guy. Funny, about three years ago we realized we'd be empty-nesters soon, and we began making plans for downsizing, perhaps at at Del-Web community or something when I reached the age of 55. I had actually been experiencing pangs of loneliness related to what was I going to do with the rest of my life after our youngest left for college and a life of his own. Well, God must have been listening, because IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN! At least not for awhile. Almost exactly two years ago we were given guardianship of four of our grandchildren. Our lives were turned upside down, but in many more good ways than bad. The oldest child was nine at the time, and there was a four-year-old, an almost three-year-old, and an eighteen month old! Wow! Nothing like starting all over again, particularly with a baby! I do have to give my husband alot of credit, he has taken this unplanned for fork in our road well. All in all, they've been such a blessing, and I wouldn't trade what happened for anything! We love then all so very much. I don't know how long they will remain here with us, but will take as long as the Good Lord is willing to let them stay here. I have two novels out ...Expand for more
now. 'DORFUSS BUBBLEBUTT" and 'BEYOND THE GARDEN ARBOR'. They both are available on all major book-selling websites. I am also on Facebook under Cynthia Jean Mueller, if anyone wishes to get in touch. I have two more completed manuscripts, and hope to submit another for publication within the next year. I find that I absolutely love writing, and although I don't get the chance for as much of it as I used to, I still find time to squeeze it in now and then. I also love drawing, both of my published novels contain my own illustrations on the insides. I plan on keeping that as a format for many of my novels, along with poems that go along with the storylines. I still love gardening, and have taken up butterfly collecting again, something I loved to do as a child. My backyard has a stunning pond that is surrounded by lovely blooms spring through fall. Although it's been hard keeping up with the weeding these past couple years, I've managed pretty good. As the grandkids get older they can help too. We were forced to give up our dog, a pit-bull mix that was probably the most obedient dog we ever owned. Our lawyer advised us when the grandkids came here that it would be wise to find another home for him. We miss him, but we still have our cats! Five right now. I miss alot of you guys. I miss the calmer, slower, more moral life we used to know when we were younger. Technology sure has changed things, not all for the better. I hope all is well with you and your families, and hope to see you at the next reunion! Love, Cindy
